The MIA Collective is a community-driven group dedicated to expanding the appreciation of experimental moving images.

What are “experimental” moving images?

MIA defines these works as creations that challenge mainstream cinematic norms by emphasizing exploration, process, and innovation. These works prioritize experimentation with form, technique, and perception, often using unconventional visuals, sound, and editing to uncover new possibilities within the mediums.
